‘My World’
Foundation Statement:
Our world faces serious environmental and social issues. One may feel angry and scared and not encouraged to express those feelings. By asking the question "what makes you most angry about your world?", students will have an opportunity to reflect and explore issues in their world that they feel most passionate about. Through writing and class discussion, they will determine one issue to focus on, research and document using photography. they will use the web to research as well as interviewing techniques to obtain information for their projects. in-class critiques will hone the skills of the craft of photography, as well as develop their own aesthetic. Students will create a final project of a resource book or blog for other teenagers to reference. By educating themselves and then passing on the education to others, they develop skills as problem-solvers and activists in their community.
Essential Question:
How can my world educate and inspire me? How can I educate and inspire my world?

what made you take the picture of the lights and how did you create it?
p.s. my name is Alan Arturo from I.S.230
I think this picture shows alot of creativity and feeling as if the lights were a reflection of something like one looked like alot of fishing with a bunch of fishing poles in the water and I think you used the little glow stick to show the light an just moved it everywhere to try to create something with it.
p.s. please go to our website {myworld230photofall07.blogspot.com} and see if you like any of our pictures or something.
p.s. I like how you put the music in your slide show that realy expresed the pictures.

"The third photo is very interesting. First, I thought it was of flowers and then I realized it was plastic or something. It reminds me of DNA or a cell.
This seems to be a project about struggles because we can see the artificial and the natural together."
